One Weekend, Six AI Prototypes đŸŠŸ

This is MISSION, a weekly newsletter for those who don’t just point out problems—they build solutions.

AI Hackathon: Six Teams Compete for a Prize from OpenAI

Generative AI Hackathon: Demo Day

TL;DR

  • A.Team is hosting a Generative AI Summit on Monday, May 8, 4:30PM - 6:45PM EDT
  • We’ll be announcing the winner of last weekend’s AI Hackathon.

AI is outperforming doctors, bamboozling banks, and even nailing The Weeknd's falsetto, making it clear that artificial intelligence is about to bring on some big changes–-no matter what industry you’re in. AI is so hot right now, that we wouldn’t be surprised to find out your grandma’s attending our Generative AI Livestream.

World Economic Forum research found that 75% of companies plan to implement AI in the next five years. OpenAI's own research suggests that 80% of US workers will see their tasks impacted by GPT, heralding a new era of productivity (and controversy).

We’re witnessing the dawn of the 100x engineer in real time. While some workers will be replaced by AI, the best workers will be able to find ways to use AI to increase their output massively.

As the demand for AI solutions surges, experts from MIT propose that the future of generative AI will lean towards niche-specific applications, focusing on tailored solutions for industries and unique use cases, rather than adopting generalized, one-size-fits-all models. Unlike other computing mega-trends such as mobile and crypto, which gave an edge to startups starting from scratch, GenAI may benefit incumbents more than new disruptors, as they possess the most significant asset for LLMs: data.

We saw these themes play out last weekend during A.Team's first-ever Generative AI Hackathon.

Sponsored by OpenAI, Baseten, and CooleyLLP, the event gathered six A.Teams of expert AI builders to create distinctive solutions for large enterprise companies. In just two days, they produced six visionary prototypes.

The prize? $3,000 in cash, plus $2,500 in credits for OpenAI and $1,000 in credits for Baseten.

You can imagine the atmosphere when the sharpest minds in AI—builders, innovation advisors, and our panel of judges—converged for a weekend of relentless innovation.

But you don’t have to imagine it. In this special edition of MISSION, we're giving you the inside scoop on each of these forward-thinking teams and the ingenious products they’re building with Generative AI.

Our judges selected three finalists to unveil their prototypes at our Generative AI Summit livestream on Monday, before a winner is chosen. We encourage anyone interested in the future of Generative AI to join!
