Class is in session, and as students head back to school, AI is joining them. With a mission to demystify AI for the younger generation, two Wharton professors have chalked up seven strategies for integrating AI into the classroom. The goal? Enhance learning outcomes while ensuring that AI serves as a supportive tool for students, not a substitute for learning.
The AI revolution is unfolding at breakneck speed, and it's clear that America's existing education system isn't built to withstand its pace. Beyond the looming job crisis lies an era of mass disruption—in a mere five years, nearly half of America’s workforce will need to recalibrate their core skills.
Just as the industrial revolution hit snooze on the human alarm clock, experts anticipate a similar evolution with AI. While many jobs might become obsolete, new opportunities will emerge, and we will all need to adapt.

CHART OF THE WEEK
14M Jobs Globally Will Be AI’d Away
The World Economic Forum estimates 83M jobs worldwide will be lost in the next five years because of AI. OK, that’s a lot! But 69M jobs will also be created. Which leaves 14M jobs that may go extinct.
They also predict that 44% of workers' core skills will change in that time frame.
Some commentators suggest this AI moment is a Cambrian explosion, something like the industrial revolution or the invention of the internet. Others are a little more circumspect, like a recent HBR piece that argued AI won’t replace humans, but humans with AI will replace humans without AI.
Job postings on Indeed are already reflecting this trend, and LinkedIn has already seen a 21x increase in AI-related job postings since November 2022.
Either way, it’s going to happen fast. Unlike the dawn of the internet, everyone already has the hardware in place to use gen AI.

Exposing Generative AI's Data Security Blind Spots
As generative AI tools continue to improve, developers need more data to train models with higher efficacy.
This need for more and more data comes directly at odds with prioritizing data privacy. It’s a tension inherent in any generative AI innovation.
At the same time we have the power to safeguard sensitive data with self-deployed tools. So we’re taking a deep dive into the benefits and drawbacks of generative AI for data privacy and security.
